SUMMER DAY

- email: capitalday@dompost.co.nz ELEANORCapital WENMAN

What do you think of American President Donald Trump? Where’s your favourite place for coffee? This summer, The Dominion Post is hitting the streets to ask people a series of random questions for our 15 Minutes of Fame project. Today, we speak to Deb Bird, who hails from Upper Hutt.

Is there intelligent life on other planets?

Absolutely. I think we’re a spot in the universe and there’s probably a lot of other life out there.

You just became a member of the Spice Girls – what’s your Spice name and why?

Diva Spice. Because if I was a member of the Spice Girls I’d be really out there.

What extreme act of heroism would you like to do?

I’d probably be an animal activist and save hundreds of pigs under the cover of darkness dressed in black.

What’s the scariest thing you’ve ever done?

I stepped in front of someone to stop them beating up their wife.

If you had only 10 minutes to live, how would you spend it?

If I was with my family, I’d cuddle them and tell them I loved them. If I wasn’t with my family and people I love, I’d lay on the ground and look at the sky or walk into the ocean and let it happen.

Should New Zealand become a republic? Or remain in the Commonwealth? Why?

No. God save the Queen. There’d be too many politicians wanting to be in charge. Imagine having our own Trump.

What’s the best thing that’s happened today?

I’ve had three coffees and I’m still loading up.

You have the power to change one thing about the world. What is it?

Poverty, because there’s so many children out there suffering and it needs to stop.

Prison sentences – rehab or punishment? Elaborate.

If it’s murder or hard crime they should do the time. For the rest, rehab.

The last time I cried was when . . .?

When I watched a Christmas ad posted on Facebook.
