Kuggeleijn support

-

Surely NZ Cricket and Westpac Stadium did exactly the right thing in removing a sign that was specifically designed to make an individual player feel uncomfortable, and embarrassed, in front of a stadium full of people and a TV audience of millions!

What impact will the cumulative effect of these types of signs have on Scott Kuggeleijn’s mental health?

As a responsible employer NZ Cricket has an obligation, to Scott, to protect him from such blatantly targeted attacks.

This case went to court and both sides put their case. Scott was found not guilty. What right does any one person have to then ‘‘troll’’ him in a very public place with signs insinuating that he was in fact guilty of sexual assault.

The person who wrote the sign probably doesn’t know either Scott Kuggeleijn or the other person involved; she was not present when the events took place so is ignorant of the facts.

The court of our land did have the facts. She therefore should not be allowed to harass Scott with insinuations, even accusations, that have been proved to be not true in a court of law.

On no level is this fair.

Well done NZ Cricket and Westpac Stadium on your original decision, but shame on you for then apologising for your actions.
