Tasty local edible gifts business is ripe for expansion
ANEW ZEALAND-owned edible gifts business that can be run from anywhere is for sale.
Dilicakes was set up two years ago and already has six franchises in Wellington, Wairarapa and Auckland.
‘‘There are endless opportunities to expand it further,’’ Benny Wang, of Link Business, says.
‘‘It’s incredibly appealing to franchisees because they can work from home while the franchisor, typically works only one hour a week.’’
There are two franchisees in Auckland, two in Wellington and one in Wairarapa.
‘‘There is space for two new territories in Auckland, Christchurch is set up for three new territories and there’s scope for growth in other areas, particularly New Plymouth, Tauranga and Hamilton,’’ Wang says.
‘‘There is also the option to go down the Master Franchise route.’’
Wang says systems are in place for a new owner to efficiently run the brand franchise from the outset.
‘‘But the vendor, who’s selling for health reasons, is happy to provide up to three months of training to ensure a smooth takeover.’’
DiliCakes sells unique and customisable edible gifts.
‘‘The product virtually sells itself, and the company has over 3000 likes on Facebook and an average rating of 4.9,’’ Wang says.
The franchisor collects 5 percent (plus GST) from every sale and 2 percent (plus GST) of every sale for marketing.
‘‘Dilicakes is a young business with endless opportunities for expansion,’’ Wang says.
‘‘It can be relocated to wherever the new owner lives, offers a flexible lifestyle, and would suit an active investor with communication and marketing skills.
‘‘The right person could tap into this great opportunity with new advertising ideas and product innovation.
‘‘There’s potential to maximise profits by sourcing and bulk buying stock, improving the current systems, and filling new franchises.’’
The business has an asking price of $50,000 (plus stock valued at $10,000).
