‘‘A Wellingtonian for 30+ years, the city lost its spark under the current leadership and has gone backward. As a Mayor my platform WELLINGTON CARBON NEUTRAL by 2022 is important to me. This implies resolving the transport/traffic issues.

‘‘Wellington needs reliable, accessible and cheaper public transport. Stop homelessness and get to more affordable rental situations. Have us be prepared for Climate Change and its impact on the Capital.

‘‘An easier place for walking and cycling and a new Mt Vic tunnel, not for more cars but for the before mentioned!’’

‘‘The rates increases predicted for Wellington are just not tenable. As a Mayor I will find different ways for funding the shortfall. One is to look at an overblown administration. Another to cut ‘lets get Wellington moving’ down. No light rail!’’

‘‘Housing and rent are to costly. Can we learn from other countries? Yes looking at Berlin, Barcelona and New York the world shows us other options. Building more, certainly. Higher density in the city centre and around transport hubs.’’

‘‘More reliable, more frequent and cheaper. As a Mayor I would push for it to have it done in the next three years. No light rail, lets make the best of buses and bus rapid transit. That is achievable!! We can not wait another 10 years.’’

‘‘Our City faces major climate change problems in the future. No earthquake strengthening of the Central Library or City Council we have to future proof and rebuild on higher ground. Same is true for the convention centre. Futureproof water and electricity supply.’’

‘‘Changing to a more sustainable economy will dramatically improve Wellington. Climate change is not only a threat but an amazing opportunity for us! By keeping rents stable and increasing the housing/apartment supply we can see a economy of scale.’’
