‘Simply delightful’ sale in Strathmore
A STRATHMORE Park character home overlooking the airport and Miramar has been auctioned for $171,000 above its rateable value.
The property, at 18 Ahuriri St, had a rateable value of $640,000 and sold for $811,000.
“It was a simply delightful, single-level ‘60s weatherboard home with three double bedrooms, a separate lounge with fabulous views over the airport and Miramar, a modern kitchen and bathroom, and indoor-outdoor flow to a large deck,” Lorraine Moleta, of Harcourts, says.
The 110sqm dwelling was on a fenced 324sqm section with offstreet parking.

A “SUPERSIZED” family home in Churton Park has been auctioned for $125,000 above its rateable value.
The property, at 7 Makatote Gr, had a rateable value of $700,000 and sold for $825,000.
Steve Garcia, of Harcourts, says the 240sqm house had four bedrooms, a study and 1042sqm of landscaped grounds.
“It had lovely large decks for indoor-outdoor living, a new kitchen and bathrooms, and fresh carpet and paint throughout .”
The 1980s house was in an established cul-de-sac.

A CLOUSTON PARK home that had been renovated inside and out has been auctioned for $232,000 above its rateable value.
The property, at 78 Cruickshank Rd, had a rateable value of $345,000 and sold for $572,000.
Mike Ledger, of Harcourts Team Ledger, says the solid 1960s house had been lovingly renovated for 137sqm of quintessential Kiwi family living.
It was largely double-glazed and had three bedrooms, an elegantly tiled bathroom, a chef’s kitchen, gas central heating, double-garage and off-street parking on a 958sqm section.
“The home was well positioned for year-round all-day sun,” Ledger says.

AN OTAKI cottage on an exceptionally sunny, sheltered section has been sold for 35 percent above its rateable value of $270,000.
The 67sqm, two-bedroom dwelling, at 260 Rangiuru Rd, was built in the 1960s on a 607sqm section.
“It had two bedrooms and was on a flat, fantastically sunny site in a handy location close to the township,” says Sarah Lange, of First National Otaki, who marketed the “appealing” property with Grant Robertson as a first-home or investment opportunity.
