Stunning Sanctum penthouse

-

TENDERS close on February 13 for a stunning penthouse in a unique inner-city apartment development with landscaped gardens and its own tennis court, heated swimming pool and gymnasium.

The three-bedroom residence, at A81/10 Ebor St, faces west for year-round late sun and overlooks the spectacular grounds that make Sanctum such a desirable lifestyle option in the heart of the cosmopolitan Te Aro district.

“No other development offers such amazing and serene outdoor living on the doorstep of downtown and within a few minute’s walk of top cafes, boutique shops and Moore Wilson’s produce centre,” Kate Foot, of Ray White, says.

“It’s also within an easy walk of the waterfront and town belt, and all the excitement of the best in Wellington nightlife while being set far enough back from Courtenay Place to enjoy a quality of life you wouldn’t think possible in the inner-city.” Warren and Mahoney Architects designed Sanctum as two adjoining blocks grouped around an unusually large garden and recreation space. They occupy only 47 percent of the site, with the rest of the land comprising 2500 square metres of Boffa Miskell-landscaped grounds, an indoor spa, pool and gym complex, a barbeque area and an all-weather tennis court.

The refurbished A81 is at the southern end of Sanctum’s northwest-facing Piazza block, where it has a premium corner position on the seventh and eighth floors.

The front door of the 155sqm penthouse opens into a light-filled interior with blonded oak timber overlay, a wide entrance, overhead glazing and a 2.7m-high stud.

Two of the double bedrooms are on this level, along with the first of two tiled bathrooms -shower cabinet, vanity, toilet - and a separate laundry.

Each bedroom has a double-wardrobe. One looks south and east, with views of the town belt and Carillon; the other faces east with town belt and Carillion outlook and has outward opening double doors.

The main bedroom suite is on the upper level. It has the same outlook, a roomy dressing room and a tiled ensuite with a bath, shower cabinet, vanity and toilet.

The expansive living/dining areas and kitchen have floor-to-ceiling glazing and open to a broad west-facing deck for soaking up the sun and the scenery.

A feature of the living area is a modern gas fireplace that’s built into a wall unit with extensive cupboards, shelving and space to mount a large flat-screen TV.

The kitchen has a double-oven, ceramic cooktop, rangehood, double drawer dishwasher, fridge/ freezer granite benchtops and an instant hot water tap.

Other features include a Bose entertainment system, two car parks and a storage locker. “This is one of only 10 penthouses in Sanctum and it boasts one of the best positions because of its western orientation and views,” Foot says. “The location is as fantastic as the security, and you won’t have to compromise on space or lifestyle to enjoy all the advantage of inner-city living.”
