TO THE POINT

If the recent surge of sea water could cause so much damage to Owhiro Bay homes and surroundings without warning, how secure is the future of any coastline? I’ve always had doubts about the planned Shelly Bay project. And, being Wellington-born, I learned many years ago about Wellington’s reclaimed land areas. What geological studies are included in the first stage of any proposed new project?

About 10 years ago I had the pleasure of sharing a shuttle to the airport with a vibrant 80+ woman who regaled us with fascinating tales of what she had seen around the world.
