Mes out for the season

-

The Northern Mystics have confirmed Silver Ferns shooter Bailey Mes will be out for the ANZ Premiership campaign after knee surgery. Mes had been struggling with a patella cartilage injury suffered during the Silver Ferns Netball Nations Cup tournament in London in January. She had knee surgery on May 1 during the Covid-19 level 3 lockdown, and she has begun rehabilitation but the Mystics confirmed yesterday that she will miss the entire premiership season. ‘‘We were personally gutted for Bailey to hear her injury from the Nations Cup tour was season ending, but we are confident she will be back next season as strong as ever,’’ Mystics head coach Helene Wilson said. Wilson said the club was pleased to elevate training partner Asher Grapes, a Hamilton under-19 representative in 2019, to the fulltime squad.
