Theatre: The Older the Better

Auditioned choir Voices in theWind’s concerts feature a selection of beautiful works by Italian masters through the ages, from Monteverdi to Verdi to Rossini. Door sales.
TOMORROW Concert: Daily Deaths
Futuna Chapel, Karori, 2pm, koha
Daniel Beban’s new work Daily Deaths literally allows audiences to experience the unfolding days, weeks and months of the Covid-19 pandemic in sound. Eighteen musicians are divided into nine pairs of instruments, with the music based around the breath of each musician.
Event: Christmas in the City
Te Rauparaha Park, Porirua, 12-4pm, free
As well as a wonderland of lights, fun and a sprinkle of Santa’s magic, there will be arts and crafts, games, bouncy castles and much more. There will be fun for the whole wha¯nau.
Book talk: Heart of Flame
Wellington Bridge Club, 17 Tinakori Rd, 2.30pm, free
Katherine Mansfield House & Garden and Steele Roberts invite you to celebrate the recently released publication Heart of Flame: Katherine Mansfield’s Flowers & Trees.
The book’s compiler, Beverley Randell, will give an illustrated talk, followed by afternoon tea and a visit to the Katherine Mansfield House & Garden.
Exhibition: Simon Ingram: The Algorithmic Impulse
City Gallery, Until March 7, free
Drawing on approaches from artificial life, computer engineering, and robotics, Simon Ingram’s new exhibition The Algorithmic Impulse challenges our idea of ‘the artist’. Visit on the weekend and witness his machine make a painting based on a visitor’s brainwaves in Monadic Device.
Circus: RAW Circus Show
The Circus Hub, Newtown, 8.30pm, Donation ($10-$20)
Presented by the Wellington Circus Hub community, new performers and professionals all take to the stage to provide amagical evening of acrobatics, aerial arts and much more.

Space Lizards Comedy Night is a fairly alternative, but fun, monthly Stand Up comedy night. Sit down, have some beautifully prepared pizza and enjoy some comedy. MC, the sociopolitical Louis Tait, acclaimed as one of the best cruise ship bingo hosts in the world.

Concert: A French Christmas
