Maggie makes a ministerial faux pas at announcement

Conservation Minister Maggie Barry must have enjoyed her role at the Government’s announcement to make New Zealand predator free. So much so, she appeared to forget Environment Minister Nick Smith still outranked her. A glowering look from Smith quickly reminded her, after she told the audience ‘‘I wouldn’t be surprised if the Honourable Nick Smith piped up as well’’. Some have speculated he could be the victim of any move to refresh the Cabinet. But he’s not gone yet, Maggie.
