Travel documents to be checked against INTERPOL
All travellers flying to, from or through New Zealand will now be checked against INTERPOL’S stolen and lost travel documents database. The Immigration New Zealand (INZ) initiative is designed to make the borders even safer. If a document has been reported lost or stolen to INTERPOL it will be picked up by New Zealand’s system and will stop the person from boarding a flight. At that point airline staff will contact INZ who will deal with it. The upgrade won’t affect the check-in process for travellers.
