Key rules out ‘traditional path’ after leaving politics
Prime Minister John Key has reconfirmed his plans to run for a fourth term, but says he won’t be following Helen Clark to the United Nations whenever he bows out of domestic politics. Key said he was focused on winning the next election, but when he left the prime minister’s job, his next career would not be ‘‘those kinds of traditional paths’’ like a job at the UN or an ambassadorial role, because it was ‘‘just not my area of interest and I don’t think it’s my area of speciality’’.
