Question to candidates

It looks like the majority of this council is intent on killing the city.

After recently driving through St Asaph and Tuam streets and seeing the narrowing of the streets, and taking away the parking spaces, and the speed limit reductions, I was put off. Then the Victoria St article that more or less said: ‘‘Buisiness owners and ratepayers, we dont care what you think. We will do what we want and we will spend $8 million on something not important.’’

I’m sure there are other projects screaming for help, ie New Brighton.

I feel sorry for the business owners in these areas, because if people can’t get near you they will go elsewhere.

I will be asking canditates in my area if they wanted this and then I can cross them off my list. Doug Drake Shirley
