The issue of farming hemp had to be raised by a university for it then to be raised with your editorial (Oct 26).

Boxing simply repugnant

The suggestion of boxing promoter Dean Lonergan that the Government help fund the impending heavyweigh­t title fight of Joseph Parker is prepostero­us (Oct 26). Profession­al boxing is legalised thuggery and inevitably results in copycat king-hit assaults and much domestic and sporting violence, let alone increased public health spending on buggered boxers and victims.The sooner boxing is banned the better. Cathedral Towers too tall

After the earthquake­s, the city council said buildings would be restricted to 10 or 12 storeys. Now there is to be a 15-storey tower built. Peter Banens Addington
