Adventure park a ‘truly awesome’ facility

Congratulations to Christchurch Adventure Park, which recently opened in the Hoon Hay Valley. What a refreshing place to visit after the continued frustration throughout the city with ongoing delays to earthquake repairs, rebuilds and continual roadworks.

While this facility has been talked about over recent years, the organisation and individuals behind the venture have simply got on with it. The facility itself is absolutely spectacular, with the extent of what has been achieved in such a short time truly impressive. This adventure park looks truly awesome and even in its early days shows all the signs of a first-class facility. No effort has been spared to provide quality facilities and equipment.

Equally impressive the day we visited were the large numbers of bikers using the park. Families, individuals, group of mates, you name it they were there. While many were clearly into serious mountainbiking, just as many were not – but equally as eager to give it a go.

Something else everyone had in common was a large smile on his or her face. The air was charged with constant enthusiastic chatter as they all enjoyed the experience. All were ready to give it a go for the first time, or to repeat another trip up the magnificent chairlift, then down one of many trails.

Everyone, from the small kids to the adrenaline junkies, is well catered for, so to those of us spectators. Even just an opportunity to take in the ambience and enjoy the surrounds and facilities make it well worth a visit.

Well done and thank you, Christchurch Adventure Park. You deserve every success for providing the city with a facility that is truly complementary and able to reinvigorate a great city.
