CHRISTCHURCH STOCK SALES
The prime ewe market carried on gathering pace with a $3-$5 price hike at livestock sales at Canterbury Agricultural Park, in Christchurch, this week.
Top ewes made $130-$140 and reached as much as $150. Heavier prime lambs found their ceiling at $130-$145, but prices for other weight grades maintained last week’s level.
Good store lambs made $100-$108.

Values: A smaller yarding of prime sheep met with increased demand and prices rose $3-$5 per head across the grades. Heavy ewes made $130-$140 with the odd sale to $150, medium $110-$120 and light $70-$80.
