Seymour swipes at Budget to boost landlords’ income

-

ACT continues to chip away at aspects of the Budget, with leader David Seymour saying the $360 million accommodation package would have been better spent on the latest school kids’ fad; stress-relief toys ‘‘fidget spinners’’. The Greens have pointed to advice in 2015 that lifting the subsidy would just push up rents. ‘‘It’s just basic economics ... It’s like turning up to an auction and giving everyone a hundred grand. The seller, or in this case the landlord, laughs all the way to the bank.’’
