Ko still No 1
New Zealand golfer Lydia Ko has retained her world No 1 ranking after China’s Shanshan Feng shot a four-under-par 68 to win the LPGA Volvik Championship in Michigan by one stroke over Minjee Lee and Sung Hyun Park yesterday. Yeon Ryu and Ariya Jutanugarn each could have displaced Ko – who didn’t enter the tournament because she is taking a three-week break – this week, but Ryu (72) finished tied for 56th at three-under, and Jutanugarn (71), the defending champion at this event, was at 11-under in a tie for 21st. Ko has had six top-10s finishes this season but no wins.
