A woman who died in a three-car crash in Canterbury was ‘‘universally loved’’, her boss says.

Christchurch woman Susan Cheyne, 28, was killed on Friday in a three-car crash on State Highway 1, near Waimate in South Canterbury. Four other people, including Cheyne’s fiance, were injured in the collision.

Cheyne had worked at accounting company MYOB for about six years, providing technical support for clients.

Her boss, Steve Targus, said she was ‘‘universally loved’’.

‘‘She was just such fun. Always laughing, always [smiling]. She would have a conversation with absolutely everyone.

‘‘I just thought the world of her and everyone did. She was just such a nice person to be around and all of her clients loved her as well.’’

Targus notified staff yesterday that Cheyne had died in the crash.

‘‘It’s very difficult for all of us. She made some pretty close friends through work and that was certainly made apparent today when we made the announcement.

‘‘She really will be dearly missed, she was just a great part of the team.’’
