Kymira dazzles with beautiful local benchtops

-

In choosing a benchtop, do you go for eye-catching or functional? With Kymira, the choice is simple: do both. Made in Christchurch and sold worldwide, Kymira benchtops are known for their ability to dazzle with deep colours and cutting-edge designs that sacrifice nothing in terms of practicality, with ultra-hygienic and stain-proof surfaces common to every product.

For manufacturers Wright Marble, the incredible versatility of Kymira has put it front and centre of a highly competitive industry more than 40 years after the company launched.

Kymira starts as a mix of resin and bauxite ore, and is set in moulds or spray-applied so that benchtops and surrounds can be produced in any size, shape or colour.

Additives such as paua, pebbles or flakes of gold or silver can be used for a unique look – ideal in an entertainer’s kitchen. forgiving on glassware. This makes it a surface ideal for breakfast bars, Laird says, where people can linger in comfort with a bite to eat and magazine to read.

‘‘It’s incredibly tactile, and if it ever does get damaged it can be repaired because we’re a local company. That can’t usually be done as easily with imported benchtops,’’ she says.

‘‘It’s also very easy to machine, so it can be cut to exactly the right size for a simple and perfect-fitting installation.’’

Laird says a showroom attached to Wright Marble’s workshop in Phillipstown offers examples of the product, although most people come to Kymira after mentioning it to their joiner or kitchen designer.

Inquiries from afar are not unusual and Wright Marble’s products can be found in food courts, luxury resorts and businesses around the world.

The ability for counters to be matched to corporate colour schemes is especially appealing to business clients, Laird says.

In addition to Kymira benchtops, Wright Marble also makes cultured marble vanity tops for the bathroom.

Custom-made with integrated basins if desired, the tops can be produced in thick slabs of any size for hassle-free mounting, either on new or existing vanities.

They are one of the fastest and most impressive ways to modernise a bathroom, Laird says.

She adds that as a long-standing Christchurch company, Wright Marble is particularly proud of its reputation for world-class products sold at a local price. The friendly advice and helpful approach of staff is just the icing on the cake.
