Christchurch’s most expensive streets

-

Christchurch’s priciest street has just a dozen homes, clustered along a tree-lined cul-de sac.

The street is Heathfield Ave, just off Fendalton Rd in the suburb of Fendalton, and its homes are worth an average of just over $2.7 million. Some of the large well-established houses have a stream boundary, others a tennis court or swimming pool.

The information comes from a report from property information website homes.co.nz. It reveals that Christchurch’s five dearest streets are all small no-exit streets with just a few homes.

Several of Heathfield Ave’s houses have values estimated at over $3m, with the dearest worth about $6.2m.

The second priciest street in the city is Mayfly Lane at Clearwater, with house values averaging $2.6m. Its homes are mostly worth between $2m and $4m and its residents are mostly business owners.

The city’s third dearest street, East Stream Lane, is also at Clearwater, but without the lake frontages.

Next on the list at No 4 is Taunton Green, between Papanui and the Cranford Basin. Bradnor Rd in Fendalton, just off Idris Rd, comes in at No 5.

Two streets on Scarborough Hill, which made the top-five list last year, did not appear this year.

According to Quotable Value, Christchurch’s cheapest suburbs are Phillipstown and Aranui.
