CHRISTCHURCH STOCK SALES
Farmers will be pleased ewe prices lifted $10 at livestock sales at Canterbury Agricultural Park, in Christchurch, this week.
Leading up to Xmas the ewe market was declining weekly. Heavy ewes made $150-$181.
The prime lamb market rose $5 a head.
Prime lambs
Values: A yarding of good lambs met with strong demand after a price rise of $5 per head. Top lambs made to $172, heavy $150 to $160, medium
$120 to $149 and light $100 to $119. Sales included: JR Lancaster (Springston) 13 lambs at $141-$158, ME Hopkinson (Ohoka) 30 lms at

Values: Good rain over the holidays increased demand for store lambs over all weight ranges. Heavy lambs made $90 to $108, medium $70 to $89 and light $60 to $69.
