The Prime Minister’s significant other Clarke Gayford returns with another series devoted to travelling to some of the world’s most idyllic fishing spots. In this week’s first episode, he’s off to Vanuatu to track down a fish that once almost drowned him – a Dog Tooth Tuna.

This 2017 documentary sees Shirley Horrocks, one of New Zealand’s leading social and artistic documentary filmmakers, draw on the extensive archive of this near-40-yearold theatre company’s own work, as well as filming various productions over six years, to provide a colourful look at this treasured Christchurch institution.

JK Simmons and Olivia Williams star in this 10-part sci-fi series about a long-serving UN bureaucrat who discovers the agency he works for is actually involved in looking after a crossing point to a parallel Earth. ‘‘Excellent, intriguing and occasionally action-packed,’’ wrote Los Angeles Times’ Robert Lloyd.
Back to the Future, 7.55pm, Saturday, Three From a time when family movies really meant entertainment for the whole whanau, this 1985 sci-fi romcom blends wonderment and nostalgia to create a rollicking adventure. Michael J Fox is at his charismatic best, while Christopher Lloyd was perfectly cast as the eccentric scientist Dr Emmett Brown. ‘‘Among the plethora of innocent charms on offer, there’s the near perfect script by Bob Zemekis and Bob Gale which not only negotiates its time travel paradoxes with deft, exuberant wit but invests the light-hearted plot machinations with a seasoning note of honest drama,’’ wrote Empire magazine’s Adam Smith.

From the creator of Doctor Foster comes a new three-part British psychological thriller, where the lives of two fathers collide as tragedy strikes. When Dan’s (John Simm) son tragically dies while in the care of Jon (Adrian Lester), Dan believes the doctor is responsible for the death and begins to unpick the very fabric of Jon’s life. ‘‘As human drama, Mike Bartlett’s thriller is pure theatre,’’ wrote The Telegraph’s Chris Harvey.
