Top lambs made $160 in a market that held its value at livestock sales at Coalgate last week.

A small yarding of prime ewes was unchanged from sales the past few weeks with the best ewes at $160-$175.

Top store lambs made $105-$114. Steers made $2.73/kg-$2.90 in a steady market.

Prime lambs

Values: Heavy lambs held their value in a small yarding. Tops made

$145-$160, good $130-$145, medium

$120-$130 and light $105-$120. Sales included: Peak Hill Station (Rakaia Gorge) 47 lambs at

Prime ewes

Values: A small yarding of ewes sold on par with recent sales. Tops made $160-$175, good $130-$150, medium $110-$120 and light $85-$100. Sales included: LC Gardner (Waiau) 207 ewes at $84-$107, Griffiths Trading Co (Amberley) 54 es at $108-$135, SG Walls & EL Blecher (Amberley) 33 es at $136-$167, GW Martin (Lincoln) 14 es at $130-$156, DC Johnston (Dunsandel) 9 es at $151-$168.

Store sheep

Values: Good lambs held their value, but fine wool lambs were harder to shift. Tops made $105-$114, good $100-$105, medium $90-$100 and light $60-$80.

$107-$114, Lake Coleridge Station (Lake Coleridge) 175 lms at $82-$109, CJ Dobby (Waiau) 173 lms at

Prime cattle

Values: In a smaller yarding due to the short week steers held their value from the previous week. Steers made $2.73/kg-$2.90, beef heifers

$2.69-$2.75, dairy heifers $1.69-$2.70, cows $1.70-$1.80 and bulls $2.30

Store cattle

Values: In a smaller yarding a good line of friesian bull calves sold at $3/kg to $3.35. Yearling bulls made

$2.30/kg, heifer calves $3.80-$4.10 and steer calves $3-$3.36.
