Police probe death

-

A Christchurch woman’s death is not being treated as suspicious, with police believing she has died from a fall. Police were called to a home on Fletcher Place, Upper Riccarton, after a woman died in the early hours of yesterday morning. Detective Inspector Greg Murton said the woman, aged in her late 30s, was visiting the home and was not there alone when the incident happened. Emergency services were called about 2.10am, a police spokeswoman said. Canterbury district commander Superintendent John Price said the cause of the woman’s death was yet to be determined, but inquiries found her injuries were ‘‘consistent with a fall’’. The woman’s death has been referred to the coroner.
