Brown cards 59

Kiwi golfer Mark Brown has scored a 59 during the second round of the Carrus Men’s Open at Tauranga Golf Club. The 43-year-old hit nine birdies and an eagle in his 11 under round on Friday to take the clubhouse lead, having hit an even par 70 in his opening effort. Brown was six under on the first nine holes, with birdies on one, two, three, five, six and nine. He went on a rare par stretch for the first three holes of the second nine, before getting an eagle on the par-five 13th, and birdies on 14, 15 and 16.
