Bennett second

George Bennett has finished second in the latest stage of the Tour of the Alps in Austria. The Kiwi road rider made a bid for victory on the fourth stage of the tour, chasing Spaniard Luis Leon Sanchez over the final few kilometres of the 134km stage. He ended up 6sec back from the Spaniard, enough to claim his best stage finish as a professional cyclist. Bennett is seventh overall on the tour, little more than 1min behind Frenchman Thibaut Pinot in first. Just one stage remains in the tour. Bennett is using the Tour of the Alps as a warm up for the Giro D’Italia in May.
