Silver Ferns skipper gets engaged

Finally some good news for Silver Ferns captain Katrina Grant (right).

After a week of lows, including being reduced to tears in a television interview during the Fern’s medal-less Commonwealth Games campaign, the 30-year-old has got engaged to her partner, Joel Rore.

Grant announced her engagement from Fiji on Instagram on Friday afternoon to Rore, who she met last year at another Silver Fern’s wedding.

‘‘From last week being the lowest of lows to this week being the highest of highs! ‘YES’ is and always will be my answer. I love you my fiance´ ,’’ Grant posted.

The couple are holidaying at a golf resort in Fiji.

Grant and her team-mates have time off from netball after the dismal campaign and will return to play for her Central Pulse franchise next month.
