Caught in an invidious position
Bob Brockie’s article (July 9) paints Hans Asberger as a monster who deliberately sanctioned the murder of disabled children.
It is more likely that he found himself under the Nazi regime to be in an invidious situation not unlike that of Herr Schindler, and unable to do more than to ‘‘save some’’.
A less biased article would be welcome, rather than simply smearing the memory of a man who probably did his best under impossible circumstances.
