Rates but no representation

Federated Farmers North Canterbury president Cameron Henderson expresses his organisation’s fears upon the restoration of full democracy to ECan (July 9).

The existence of an unfortunate rural versus city divide cannot be laid at the feet of we city folk. The divide has been created by eight years of paying rates to ECan without representation while Mr Henderson’s industry has had open slather to our resources.
