Winston Peters says there is not enough money to pay the nurses more but is happy to take the heating allowance, which he certainly does not need. We have $2 billion to spend on planes that Peters says we need to protect us from the Chinese that he feels are our enemy. New planes are needed but do we really need the extras that allow us to hunt submarines? The priority should be happy and well-paid teachers and nurses, not overpaid politicians.
