Cranmer Square has a solid and historical associatio­n with our departing soldiers.

Leaving the memorial in Cathedral Square makes very little sense as with developmen­ts, building and sculptures etc, there is no room for the large numbers attending dawn services.

Latimer Square has little or no historical connection to our fallen so what would be the story going forward?

As to the cost of moving the memorial, divide the estimated $2 million by the number of lives lost in WWI and we spend around $455 for each life lost.

I think this is a tiny price to pay for continued remembranc­e. We spend far more on cycleways.

Alas, the rules of physics take no prisoners. Current climate models are constantly tested against real-time data and have proven to be reliable.
