Teen stabbed in neck with scissors
A student was stabbed in the neck with a pair of scissors at Southland Boys’ High School on Tuesday. Detective Sergeant Sean Cairns said a 14-year-old boy appeared in Invercargill Youth Court yesterday, charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. He has been remanded in custody. Emergency services were called to the school about 2pm and a 15-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The injuries were not life-threatening and he was recovering well, Cairns said. Police inquiries were ongoing and there was no further information at this time.
