Why write?

Last week I was questioned as to why I wrote to your paper and replied that I thought we were living in a very apathetic society. And we are. When we put our name to viewpoints and society concerns we are indeed being very brave and also showing we believe in ourselves. Maybe any criticism of letter writers shows an inadequacy in their own beliefs and values.
