Pegasus gastropub welcomes all
The Good Home Pegasus has a flavour all of its own, given shape by the enticing array of drinks at the bar, the tempting treats on the menu and the smiles of the friendly folk who serve them.
Overlooking Lake Pegasus, the gastropub’s purpose-built boat sheds are designed to reflect the nautical and coastal life of the area.
Owner Andy Laloli says it’s hard to pin down what ‘‘home’’ means to everyone, although there is something most definitions share. It’s a feeling of comfort, he says. A place where you can finally let out your breath, relax and unwind.
‘‘We’ve aimed to recreate this feeling at The Good Home Pegasus by fashioning spaces for you to feel at ease in and call your own.
‘‘There are spaces to hang with a bunch of friends or the good crew from the office, or to catch up with close friends and family.
‘‘It’s about lunch with no plans for the afternoon, a cocktail or two after five, an easy dinner with the family, or a beer while watching the code.’’
The bar has your favourite Speight’s beers on tap, and classics like Stella Artois, Guinness, Steinlager and Macs.
Guests can also expect to find some exciting offerings on tap from Panhead, Emersons and Little Creatures.
Or, depending your mood, you could enjoy a fresh daiquiri in the sun, relax by the lake in the courtyard, perhaps have a neat whisky in the sports den, or simply a raspberry and coke with the kids. Whatever your elixir, you can be confident you will enjoy it in a comfortable and relaxing environment.
Andy says food is where the place really comes to life, though, noting that The Good Home Pegasus is all about the gastropub experience.
Menu items might be similar to that of a pub, but the ingredients and the way they are prepared shoots the dishes from predictable to unbelievable.
