Capitalism

A timely reminder from Lorne Kuehn (Feb 6) to the citizens of Venezuela and indeed the whole of South America, New Zealand and elsewhere not to forget the benefits brought to them by capitalism.

And if they, and we, have forgotten, or have never known about, the glories of the Somoza, Videla, Batista, Pinochet or Fujimori regimes, they need only look to the current situation of workers in the USA under Donald Trump, surely the very epitome of capitalism, to witness the advantages to be gained (at least by some) through embracing such a philosophy.
