‘Scott Guy’ talk cancelled
A controversial talk about the Scott Guymurder trial has been cancelled following backlash from Guy’swidow. The talk by defence lawyer Peter Coles about Ewen Macdonald – whowas accused but acquitted of the murder – was due to be hosted by the Havelock North Club on December 4, costing $100 a ticket. But yesterday, the club posted on its Facebook page, saying the event had been cancelled, after backlash from Guy’swidowKylee Guy, who now lives in Hawke’s Bay. The club apologised for the ‘‘inconvenience’’. Kylee Guy told Stuff lastweek that the eventwas ‘‘utterly disgusting’’ and asked why anyone thought they had the right to gain personally and commercially by leveraging her family’s grief.
