Woman altered prescription
A woman who altered a prescription to get more drugs was sentenced in the Invercargill District Court yesterday.
Melanie Marie Watt appeared before Judge Christina Cook and was sentenced to four months’ community detention for altering a document with intent to defraud on February 20.
The summary of facts says Watt had a prescription for 10 Tramadol and she tried to alter it for 100 tablets.
Assault
Poihippi Michael Dean McIntyre, 46, fisherman, of Timaru, was remanded to August 11 for assault on April 21.
Tanentoa Matia, 41, was ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within six months for assault on January 18.
Breach
Tyrone John Rautahi, 47, was convicted and discharged for breaching release conditions on May 18.
Robert Lowell Lindsay, was remanded to reappear on June 12 for breaching supervision on March 31.
Chase Potae Josef Emanuel Tuau was convicted and discharged for breaching community work.
Jessie James Mathews was sentenced to two months’ jail for two breaches of community work. An order was made to cancel the community work sentence.
Driving
Linda Jean Brown, 19, farm hand, of Pahia, was remanded to June 26 for two charges of careless driving causing injury on February 13 on the OrepukiRiverton highway.
Sam William Winiana, 22, was sentenced to 90 hours’ community work, five months’ community detention, nine months’ supervision and disqualified for six months for sustained loss of traction on February 18 and failing to stop, reckless driving, possession of utensils and unlawful possession of a firearm on March 27.
An order was made to destroy the bong and firearm.
Drugs
Daniel Allan Ashby, 20, production manager, was fined $700 for possession of cannabis and utensils on June 1.
Indecent assault
Jeremy Uesiliana Kuresa, 17, student, was sentenced to five months’ community detention and 175 hours’ community work for indecent assault of a female over 16 years of age on November 20 last year.
Theft
Floyd Anthony McCormack, was sentenced to 200 hours’ community work for theft of a vehicle on February 15.
Unlawful hunting
Kurt Raymond Shearing, 28, shearer, of Waipango, was fined $450 for unlawful hunting in the Woodlaw Forest, Otautau, on February 5.
Wilful damage
Jade Hanna Wybrow, 23, was remanded to June 26 for wilful damage on May 29.
Wounding
Keith Kitto, 61, beneficiary, of Bluff, was remanded to July 15 for wounding a female with reckless disregard on May 5.
Drink-driving
Benjamin Garry Lay, 20, labourer, was fined $700 and disqualified for six months for driving with a breath-alcohol level of 668mcg on May 31.
Gregory Paul Branks, 24, electrician, of Edendale, 939mcg on May 24, fined $1200 disqualified for six months. For careless driving on May 24, he was convicted and discharged.
Tamakitera Blair, 18, plasterer, 567mcg on May 24, fined $600, disqualified for six months.
