AB Equipment specialise in the sale and service of a vast array of materials handling and construction equipment, supporting all their customers with superior service, thereby giving them a competitive advantage in their markets.

Branch manager Evan Sanderson says it is one thing to be able to sell equipment, but it is the all-important after-sales service and back-up that makes the difference to clients, and AB Equipment have made it their priority to offer a 24-hour, 7-day call out service that is available to clients that have malfunctioning equipment collected and replacement machinery delivered.

This service has seen the company continue to show strong growth year after year. AB Equipment’s North Road premises offers a wide range of equipment which continues to grow and expand in keeping with demand.

Excavators are available in a full range of capacities from 1-5 tonne to 80 tonne, while the variety of forklift capabilities ranges from one to 90 tonne.

Evan says the company also offers a wide range of other specialised equipment as well.

The diversity of product, along with the back-up service has seen some of the biggest names in business and industry utilising AB Equipment’s expertise and products.

Evan says his company is willing to go the extra mile for their clients and is always happy to source new products, when the need arises.

A respected leader in the construction and materials handling equipment market, AB Equipment has the expertise to advise clients on the right products for their needs with a nationwide database kept up-to-date with links to all parts of the world, meaning a quick turnaround when sourcing products. The key to successful ongoing business is good relationships with both clients and staff, says AB Equipment branch manager Evan Sanderson.

‘‘Your business is only as good as the staff you’ve got in it and the clients you have.’’

He says selling a product to a client is only the beginning of building a good, long term relationship. It is the keeping in contact with the clients and ensuring they have ready access to his team of 14 staff with 8 highly experienced and qualified service technicians, each having their own fully equipped vehicle, meaning most emergencies can be dealt with on-site.

The servicing of clients machinery, including break-down emergencies is all about ensuring as little disruption to the client’s production or business as possible.

Evan says AB Equipment is thriving in the competitive Southland market where he says honesty is a vital attribute.

He says a lot of our business is still done with a handshake.

‘‘Southlanders are very loyal people and their word is their word.’’

In that vain, Evan offers a huge thank you to the continued support of all AB Equipment’s clients as well as the branches loyal and dedicated staff.
