ILT chief appointed
Invercargill Licensing Trust sales and marketing manager Chris Ramsay has been named as the trust’s new chief executive.
He will replace current chief executive Greg Mulvey from December 31.
Mulvey announced his retirement in July, after 40 years with the trust.
Ramsay said he was ‘‘humbled’’ to be chosen to lead the organisation into the future.
‘‘I’ve worked in a lot of different roles but there’s never been one as enriching as my current one and, without a doubt, the future one as well.
‘‘It’s pretty rare you get to work in the corporate world and return every dollar you make to the com- munity you love. It’s unique.’’
Succeeding a leader of Mulvey’s calibre was an honour, Ramsay said.
Recruitment for a new sales and marketing manager would begin soon, he said.
Mulvey said he was ‘‘personally delighted’’ to learn of his successor.
‘‘Chris has a deep understanding of the ILT’s role in the community and, most importantly, how that might evolve in the future. He’s got a natural empathy with this community having been raised here himself,’’ he said.
‘‘He will bring a new energy, vision and direction which is critical to address inevitable change as the world itself changes.’’
