Hospital visiting hours not observed during strike

During the nationwide nurses strike today Southern District Health Board will not be observing visiting hours during the strike so family members can be present throughout the day. Families and wha¯nau of those whose loved ones are in hospital were reminded that services would be operating with reduced staff during the strike, and any assistance they could provide would be greatly appreciated, a statement from the SDHB said. The country’s nurses, healthcare assistants and midwives were to walk off the job from 7am after pay talks were unsuccessful.
