Are humbled by Titans

-

Hurrell opened the scoring in the seventh minute. It wasn’t without controversy as Joseph Vuna appeared to be obstructed by Keegan Hipgrave but he was unlikely to stop Hurrell.

It didn’t take long for Shaun Johnson to hit back as he showed off his fancy footwork to beat three defenders back on the inside.

Former Titan Karl Lawton gave his side the lead when he darted over from dummy-half 10 minutes before the break.

But almost as the soon as the second half started the carnage began as the Titans exploded with two tries in three minutes.

A poor missed tackle from Solomone Kata allowed Brenko Lee to burst through and set up Anthony Don before Lee intercepted a Jazz Tevaga pass to score himself.

The Warriors had a chance to immediately hit back only for errors and poor fifth-tackle options to let Gold Coast off the hook.

The Titans, on the other hand, were taking all of their opportunities. AJ Brimson slipped through a backpedalling defence before beating Roger Tuivasa-Sheck to take the lead to 14 points.

With 20 minutes to go, the Warriors still had enough time to come back. But the game was as good as over when Phillip Sami beat Tuivasa-Sheck all ends up to finish off a long-range try through the middle. The winger grabbed another to send the Warriors back to the drawing board with five rounds left in the regular season.
