Celebrating Dad in style this Father’s Day

-

With Father’s Day just around the corner, if you haven’t got something already sorted or an idea in mind, it might be time to put your thinking cap on. In New Zealand, the first Sunday of September is set aside especially to celebrate our father’s or the father figure in our lives. They do so much for us throughout the year and this is a great opportunity to show them how much you appreciate it. For the littlies, breakfast in bed is not just for Mum, Dad would love it too. Get Mum to help and organise some of his favourites. What a great way to start the day! For Dad’s who love the outdoors, there are plenty of gift options available and no doubt he’s dropped a few hints of what he wants or needs for Father’s Day. Listening closely to Dad at this time of the year can have its advantages. Imagine how pleased he will be when he unwraps that new fishing rod, all ready for the summer sun to hit. Older children might like to take Dad out for a meal at his favourite restaurant or take him on an special excursion. There are some delightful spots within close proximity to Invercargill where you can chill out and enjoy the gorgeous scenery that surrounds us. Stop in at a cafe for lunch, take the new fishing rod and make a day of it. Another option that Dad might like is a weekend away with Mum. Get your siblings together, you can chip in and plan some activities for them whilst they are away. Check out bookme and plug in the destination, you will be amazed at the options available. No matter what you decide, just make sure whether near or far, that you get in touch with dear old Dad this Father’s Day and tell him how much he means to you. They won’t always be around, so it is important that they know you don’t take them for granted.
