An annual event on Winton’s calendar, the Country Marketeer’s Craft and Produce Market will be held on Sunday, November 18. Held in conjunctio­n with the Winton Open Day, the market has proved a popular event each year for almost 15 years.

With anywhere up to 60 stall holders each year showcasing their wares from throughout Central Southland and the wider Southland community, the Country Marketeer’s Craft and Produce Market has plenty to satisfy all individual tastes and styles.

The market will be open to the public from 10am to 4pm and admission is free. With Christmas only just around the corner, it presents a fantastic opportunit­y to buy that someone special in your life, something unique. Santa will also be in-house with Tina McGregor Photograph­y, so why not pop in and get your Santa photos sorted too?

There will be a range of fun activities for children this year, with Winton Area Promotions sponsoring the very popular face painting and balloons have been added for the young ones as well. These activities are free to children that come along on the day.

Another new initiative that is being implemente­d this year for the outside area is the showcasing of local musical talent with Central Southland College students, led by Bryce Dykes, planning some great entertainm­ent.

Proceeds from the day, including the raffle will go towards putting up the Christmas flags along the main street to bring festive cheer to the town. This is another Winton Area Promotions initiative and ensures the township can welcome in Christmas in style.

Along with the Country Marketeer’s Craft and Product Market, the Winton Business Associatio­n are organising another action-packed ‘‘Winton Open Day‘‘ with shops open for business throughout the day, plenty of fabulous entertainm­ent for both young and old to enjoy, and the fantastic street parade that is getting bigger and better by the year.

Winton’s Open Day presents an ideal opportunit­y for the community to come together and for out-of-towners to visit Winton to see what the town has to offer, and purchase a gift or two in preparatio­n for Christmas.

A friendly little town, with community-minded people at its heart, head on out to Winton on Sunday, November 18 to check out the market and indulge in all the festivitie­s associated with their big open day. You won’t be disappoint­ed!
