Agricentre South - Servicing and serving the community
Agricentre South can credibly claim that they are a destination for the rural sector and servicing their local community.
Their two branches in Gore have customers covered with an extensive range of agricultural products and services.
The Charlton Lane branch houses New Holland and Kubota along with many popular equipment brands including Fella, Lemken and Vaderstad.
At the Hokonui Drive site, Case IH, Kuhn, Buckton and other leading equipment brands are joined by Yamaha motorcycles.
Grant Price, Dealer Principal and CEO says the success of Agricentre South’s branches is down to the quality of the staff and the great service they offer.
‘‘Our field service teams are in well equipped vehicles to service and repair most agricultural products on-farm.
‘‘We also worked with engineers in designing a specialised ute for our motorcycle field service technician, allowing him to work on bikes on a platform which raises and lowers from the back of the truck deck.’’
Agricentre South’s success is also due to their continued growth following the amalgamation and re-branding from two separate businesses, Southland Tractors and Advance Agricentre, nearly five years ago.
Agricentre South has achieved a number of milestones since the inception of the new company name in 2014.
Among these, they were very proud to deliver the largest tractor in Southland, the Case IH Quadtrac 600.
Each Agricentre South branch is very supportive of local community events, from sponsorships of local teams and community projects, through to motorcycle days and A&P shows.
They are also one of the founding members of the Southland Youth Futures programme, promoting the Primary Industry to Youth in the Southland Region. As an employer of young people in the local community Agricentre South, along with other businesses in the region, often work with local schools talking to students and promoting career pathways in the agricultural sector, conducting mock interviews and offer school visits in their business.
Grant says ‘‘we feel that we have a corporate responsibility to promote our industry to youth, especially with projected forecasts of labour shortages in the sector for the Southland region’’.
