Gore Garden Club Harvest Show

-

‘‘Mexican Fiesta’’ is the theme for this year’s Gore Garden Club Harvest Show which is combined with the SI National Dahlia Show and we are celebrating Mexico the home of the Dahlia.

The Show is on Saturday the 16th and Sunday the 17th of February.

This is going to be a huge show with the 600 vases of amazing Dahlias on show together with our normal Harvest show catering for all crafts, produce and children’s and school entries. Participants are encouraged to enter a Pinata and or decorated dahlia as our 2 garden sculptures. This competition is open to all; individuals, groups, families and schools.

This year we have included a ‘Blokes Baking’ category – any item. The photography sections allow for creativity and thinking outside the box with a new category ‘Lifecycle’ (series of 4 photos). We think it will be more fun to see what people come up with.

There is no right or wrong. Children are encouraged to enter exhibits and a schedule of the sections available can be picked up from Mitre 10, Campbells or the library.

There will again be a hidden fun item for the children to find around the exhibits at the venue, with a competition for children to guess how many there are. Colouring competition forms are available from Mitre 10 – prizes are donated by local businesses.

Claire our publicity officer encourages people right throughout the district to join in the fun and bring along their entries.

‘‘You never know you might just have the best bloom or the best veggies. This is a celebration of what we grow, make and produce from our glorious Gore’’ says Claire.

If you’ve got the best homemade preserves in the neighbourhood, know your way around the flower garden or young Timmy has made a super playdough animal, why not enter it in this year’s 36th annual Harvest Show, hosted by the Gore Garden Club.

This years theme is ‘‘Mexican Fiesta’’, so pick up a schedule and have some fun! Celebrate Gore and enjoy a Devonshire Tea which is included in the $5 entry price. Children under 15 free.

Don’t miss out! Be at the Harvest Show, an event which continues to be an asset to the Gore community year after year and we are so excited to be hosting a huge show with something for everyone combining with the SI National Dahlia Show. There will also be a sales table which will include a favourite – tulip bulbs.
