Models over Mandeville 2019

-

You are all invited to Models over Mandeville on the 9th & 10th of February 2019.

Last year we had a great turnout and this year will be no exception.

For those of you that don’t know, Mandeville is home to the Croydon Aircraft Company, they are the only licensed company in the world to make Tiger Moths.

It is truly an amazing place with an fabulous display of DeHavilland aircraft.

The 80 year old Gore Model Aero Club has always had flying rallies and in the early days of the Croydon Aircraft Company, the airfield and hangers at Mandeville were, and still are, a mecca for model aircraft enthusiasts. For many years aviation groups and the public, have enjoyed the display that the aero modellers put on every February.

Modellers come from all over the South Island and enjoy the freedom to fly in uncluttered airspace and on a nice open site.

We expect all facets of aero modelling to be present, from the humble chuck glider, electric gliders and power planes, aerotowed sailplanes, to helicopters and drones.

Control-line stunt and combat planes have recently been making a comeback and will be at Mandeville too.

There is no entry fee for the public but donations are most welcome. For more information phone Pete Salmond (027) 208 9031.
