Reopening date set

The Southern Institute of Technology has announced Telford will reopen on February 18. Students studying for a Certificat­e in Agricultur­e (level 3), or a Diploma for Rural Veterinary Technician­s (level 5) will begin classes on that date. The start date for Certificat­e in Equine (levels 3 and 4) was yet to be advised. It was announced on Tuesday that Education Minister Chris Hipkins agreed to a proposal from SIT to take over the Telford Campus of the Taratahi Agricultur­al Centre for 12 months. The Government will invest $1.8 million into SIT to deliver primary industries training programmes both at Telford and through distance learning.
