Duke gives up driving
The Duke of Edinburgh has given up driving in the wake of a crash which led to his car overturning, Buckingham Palace announced Saturday. The Duke, who is 97, has voluntarily surrendered his driving licence after ‘‘careful consideration’’, a spokesman said. The decision will bring a conclusion to a Norfolk Police investigation into the crash, which occurred near to the Sandringham Estate last month. The incident left the female passenger of a Kia Carens with a broken wrist, while a woman driver and nine-month-old baby boy escaped unharmed from their smoke-filled car.
