Private school eyed for Gore

A new private school for up to 80 pupils has been proposed for Gore.

The Simmons Goodwill Trust has applied to the Gore District Council for a resource consent to build a private school on rural land at Charlton Rd.

Trustee Greg Simmons, of Invercargi­ll, has not returned calls for comment.

However, a concerned Gore resident contacted

Council regulatory and planning general manager Dr Ian Davidson-Watts said the council had gone back to the applicant requesting more informatio­n about stormwater and wastewater disposal.
